Transformers 3 – Megan Fox is out!

SECOND UPDATE: Megan’s replacement will not be Gemma Arterton – because that would mean Michael Bay is smart enough to hire an actual actress. No, she’ll be replaced by Victoria Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

UPDATE: Megan’s rep is saying she quit… sure she did. That’s what I do when I’m a part of a guaranteed cash cow!

Some crazy Transformers news – Megan Fox has been dropped from Transformers 3! The front-runner for her replacement/Sam’s new love interest is supposedly Gemma Arterton. No word on why Fox is being replaced yet. Thoughts?

Gemma Arterton:

Captain America’s Heroic Age Costume Preview

Take a look at some of the options for the Captain America Heroic Age… which one do you like most?

I think I’m kind of digging #2 – classic but still stylish.

Nerd Fight – Battle #5

It’s that time again. To reiterate, every Friday the Cupcake Rogues will randomly pick 2 characters to do battle – whether it be Marvel, DC, female, male, mutant, human, or human that pretends to be a mutant with magic (I’m looking at you, Juggernaut), they are all possible. Once we’ve randomly selected our two, they will go head to head in several categories with one being deemed winner. The winner will live on to fight another day, but a warning – with 200 possible characters, it may be awhile before round 2 🙂

Fifth week in the random selection:

Emma Frost vs Supergirl

Emma Frost Supergirl (Kara Zor-El)
Origin Born into a wealthy family from Boston, Emma hasn’t had it so easy. Dad’s an aloof, unfaithful ass, Mom’s a neurotic pill popper, brother is suicidal and her two sisters are mega-bitches. Emma finally has enough of their attitude and splits. However, things don’t get much better. Emma and her boyfriend are kidnapped by the mob and subsequently the boyfriend is killed, so what does Emma do? Takes the ransom money from the mobsters and enrolls herself in college. She’s got like 27. Originally, she is the last survivor of Argo City on Krypton. In the reboot, she starts off chronologically older than Superman, but the ship she takes to travel to Earth is caught in a kryptonite meteorite which holds her in a state of suspended animation for a period of time – causing her to look younger than Superman. She comes to Earth and claims to be Superman’s cousin. Batman is distrustful of her. Cuz that’s how he rolls.
Edge? Emma – Her origin may not be as exciting, but she just has one. Apparently Kara has multiple-origin disorder. (PS – Joker does it better!!)
Powers A powerful telepath, Emma can read minds, speak telepathically, mind control, paralysis, possession, hypnosis, induce pain, mental blasts and mental affairs. She also developed a second mutation of turning her skin into organic diamond which renders her resistant to heat and cold with enhanced strength and durability. She is also a potential telekinetic. Superhuman strength and speed, extra sensory and vision powers, invulnerability, flight, and the ability to fight in what can only be explained as a cheerleading outfit.
Edge? Kara – She’s definitely stronger and could crush Emma even in her diamond form. Emma would have to take her out mentally. And by take her out mentally, I mean kill her, not take her on an imaginary trip to Olive Garden for dinner. With Emma you’re never sure.
Love interest It would be pointless to list all of Emma’s many conquests, we all know she’s been around the block more times than a power walking granny. So we’ll focus on her current love interest of Scott Summers. Idiot. Brainiac5 is in love with her, but she doesn’t return his affections in the comics. Other than that she was telepathically manipulated into falling in love with Ultraman once…. Yep, that’s it. She’s at home reading this blog on a Saturday night.
Edge? R2 – Emma – It hurts to give a point to someone in love with a Summers, but Emma’s been the love interest of pretty much everyone, while Kara has been the love interest of…No one! R1 – I can’t give points to anyone who’s been seriously involved with Scott Summers… I just can’t….
Costume If it’s white and skimpy, Emma will wear it!  She takes the phrase “It takes a lot of money to look this cheap” to a whole new level. She’s had many, but all have looked like some variation of the Metropolis High cheer team’s uniforms.
Edge? Emma – It takes a certain kind of woman to be able to rock white fur and leather and still be taken seriously. Work!
Most off-putting personality Emma is someone you’d probably hate in real life. She’s snide, entitled and frankly a bit of a skank. But in comic land this makes for a very entertaining character. Later on in her series, when Kara finds out that her parents are alive, they realize that she’s had kryptonite poisoning, which causes mood swings, aggressiveness, crystallizing blood, memory loss, and hallucinations this entire time we’ve known her. So her father purges her of the poisoning and she’s a special little princess again. Hey Kara, most of us just call those symptoms PMS. Deal with it.
Edge? Emma Frost – Kara is now cured, Emma’s got bitch for life.
Best story arch In Murder at the Mansion, Emma is shot with a diamond bullet while in her diamond form leaving her shattered. While the likely suspect is Jean Gray (having recently confronted Emma about her affair with her husband) it turns out to be Esme Cuckoo, one of Emma’s clone daughters! In the Crisis of Infinite Earths, Supergirl is killed by the Anti-Monitor while saving Superman’s life. Batgirl gives her eulogy.
Edge? Emma – Supergirl’s sacrifice was noble, but Emma’s was a combination of Dallas’s “Who Shot JR” with a dash of “Days of our Lives”.
Hotness Voted hottest comic book female by…Pretty much men everywhere. She’s a hot blonde in a cheerleading uniform. If you can block out her more annoying traits, you’re all set!
Edge? Emma – LOOK AT HER!
Fiercest foe Jean Grey – They have an interesting relationship in that they clearly can’t stand each other, but it was Jean who brought Emma back to life when she was shot. In the 70s it was Lex Luthor’s niece Nasthalthia, or Nasty as they called her. That’s all I have for that, I just wanted to point out that she had a villain called Nasty.
Edge? Emma – Though Kara gets points for having the foe with the funnier name, Nasty can’t Trump the power of the Phoenix!
Biggest WTF moment While under the guise of “sexual therapist”, Emma attempts to help Scott through his marital problems… By dressing as his wife and having mental sex with him. A game at first, it turns out that intelligent, sophisticated Emma has actually fallen in love with the ultimate wet-blanket. Her lack of humanity and knowledge of humans starts causing blunders – such as her promising a little boy she can save him before realizing that he has terminal cancer.  Then Metropolis turns against her. Oops.
Edge? R2 – Emma – Kara’s WTF moment was made in ignorance. Emma chose to have a MIND AFFAIR with a man whose wife is the arguably the most powerful telepath in the world. Miss Cleo could’ve told her this was a bad idea! R1 – She told a dying boy she could save his life when he had terminal cancer?! WTF?!?!
Person who should attempt an on-screen portrayal Emma had a bit part in X-Men Origins: Wolverine played by Tahyna Tozzi. But R2 chooses Diane Kruger because not only is she blonde and pretty, but she can pull off icy and intelligent. Helen Slater played her in 1984 – I never saw it but it got RAVE reviews on IMBD (insert sarcasm here), so maybe it’s time to cast for a reboot. Maybe Hayden Panettiere because she already plays a blonde cheerleader that looks 16 and annoys the hell out of me. She could easily go 2 for 2 on that.
Edge? Emma – We can’t stand Hayden Panettiere. Side note – R1 would’ve picked Kelly Carlson to play Emma… but anything’s better than Hayden.

Emma Frost: 9

Supergirl: 3

And the winner is….   Emma Frost! Or maybe she just got into our minds and made us pick her… guess you’ll never know.
