It’s 1998 again!

It sucks when a favorite comic book is cancelled. Back in 98, mine was Danger Girl. Yes, I loved the skimpy costumes and the overt sexual innuendo but mostly, I loved the art. J. Scott Campbell was a comic god to me (still is actually) so imagine my delight when I got a load of this cover.

Now imagine my annoyance that Mr. Campbell is only doing the cover art… Anyway, it turns out Abbey Chase will be making another foray back into my local comic book store in a little mash up with Army of Darkness. Now I admit, I have no idea what Army of Darkness is. But you can bet your mint edition copy of Batman #66 that I will be buying this comic.

Check out CBR‘s article.

Hey R2, it’s Jesse. I can’t believe you do not know what Evil Dead is. It’s Bruce Campbell’s first movie. It was so stupid it was awesome. Then they made Evil Dead 2: Army of Darkness. With this they knew the only reason the first one was good was because it was a train wreck, so they played on that and that is where (if you’ve ever heard it) fist full of boomstick comes from.

Hahaha, nope, never heard of it at all. Should I assume you’d recomend it?

Yes. You don’t really have to watch Evil Dead to get Army, but it’s still hilarious. I like both. It’d be like going and seeing the new Spider-man musical just to watch the train wreck happen. It’s just a cult-classic. Worth seeing even just to say ya did.
