That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, we have a name for Batman 3: The Dark Knight Rises. Nolan also confirmed that the Riddler will NOT be in the movie. He says “It won’t be the Riddler. We’ll use many of the same characters as we have all along, and we’ll be introducing some new ones.” So no new news on who our villain might be but one more to cross off the list. The newest rumors have Killer Croc being mentioned as the villain, but that doesn’t quite fit in with Nolan’s realistic universe. In another recent rumor, some of the women meeting with Nolan for the casting of his leading lady are suggesting that Catwoman is still a great possibility. Thoughts?

I think Two Face will be one of the villains, but not the main. Also, I don’t know how I feel about Catwoman. Truth be told, I was not a huge fan of Batman Returns… mostly because of The Penguin (even tho Devito killed it). I know it will be a great movie, I just don’t know who the bad guy is gonna be.
Aaron Eckhart has said he hasn’t been asked to come back. He could just be throwing us off, but it didn’t sound like he’d be in it.

Harvey is dead. With the way Two-Face was represented on screen, I doubt he would live much longer anyway. His face was all kinds of screwed up. It would shatter the realistic approach to Batman if Harvey was retconned back to life.
Catwoman would be really hot. The fact she has no powers plays well into Nolan’s Batman World View.
Mr. Zsasz was in Batman Begins. Scarecrow has been setup as a reoccurring character. With Falcone in place, the Holiday Killer from The Long Halloween could make an appearance. Although the very dead Harvey Dent was a huge part of that story. Brian Azzarello’s run on Batman showed Killer Croc more human, just deformed, and a mobster. The mob plays a big part in Nolan’s Batman movies, so that route could work.
The title is kind of lame. I can see lots of crude jokes with a title like that.
A story involving Deadshot out to kill respectable business people of Gotham could work, and it would change up the type of story we’ve seen before. Instead of this huge epic movie (something that Batman shouldn’t be), you’ve got more of a cat and mouse chase adventure where Batman could display his detective skills. They should keep the scale really small and develop Batman’s reputation as the world’s greatest detective. That is one of the coolest things about him: he’s basically Sherlock Holmes in a costume. Right now, Nolan has showed us Bruce Wayne/Batman is a very pissed off, determined vigilante with a wealth of resources.
Also, the Batman: Gotham Knight cartoon was canon, so Deadshot has already made an appearance.
i was just saying how I’d like to see Zsasz. Not as s main villain, but as a supporting member. Scarecrow is always good but I don’t think they’d make him as a main villain just because we’ve seen it. As far as Killer Croc, I think the fact that he’s set to shoot in New Orleans, the home of swamps, that’s what most are thinking, but to me it still seems a bit fantastical for Nolan, even if it is the “more human” version (kind of like how we knew he’d never do Harley Quinn, cuz it’s “over the top”). I’d totally be willing to see his take on Croc though. Deadshot or Hush would be interesting too. There are just so many frickin’ villains in Batman’s rogues gallery I think we’re just going to have to wait until he announces it haha. I am looking forward to Catwoman – a lot of people are hating on that idea but she’s a classic if played by the right chick.

I have a special place in my heart for Bullock. He’s such a sleeze. I think Croc could be ok if handled properly, but I don’t think I’d want him to be the main villain…I’m dying to see an amazing Catwoman but maybe since Bruce has had a love interest in the first two films, she wouldn’t really be adding much?
I’m not so hot on the idea of Deadshot, but I absolutely would love to see more of the “Worlds Greatest Detective” side of Batman. His mind is really what makes him so formidable.
I seem to recall an article where Nolan said that the villain would be one who had been around a long time. As cool as Hush or Holiday would be, have they been around long enough to be considered?
