Casting Update: The Avengers

The latest rumors are that Nathan Fillion and Eva Longoria have been cast as Henry “Hank” Pym and Janet Van Dyne, aka Wasp. This is still just a rumor, so who knows, but these rumors have been pretty accurate so far. Also no word on if the 2 will be playing just scientists or if they’ll have powers; married or unmarried. I’m OK with Nathan Fillion but I really can’t see Eva Longoria playing a superhero. What do you think?

I love Fillion and enjoy most everything he’s in. I think Longoria works for the concept of the Wasp, the glamorous part. The Longoria rumor is kind of out of the blue though, so it might be true. The Fillion rumor, if Joss Whedon is still involved, then that is no surprise. Whedon likes to work with his favorites over and over again.

I agree on the Fillion part. He can do no wrong to me. But Longoria… ugh. Please god let her not star in any movie I see.

Whedon is a television god. His work on Serenity was enough to hook me but he’s shown some prowess at movies too. I’m hoping he is involved (crossing fingers)

Whedon is signed to write and direct the Avengers movie, and rumor is that his deal includes a rewrite of the Captain America script too.

I get good vibes about the Avengers movie… sans Longoria. So much potential. Please don’t let this turn out like X-Men 3.

Please don’t EVER let ANYTHING turn out like X3!
