X-Men: First Class: Casting Update

Is’s been announced that James McAvoy will be taking on the role as a young Xavier in X-Men: First Class. Personally, I think he would’ve made more sense as a young Magneto, but he is a good actor. I also worry that he seems too young. James McAvoy is 31. Unless they’re making the X-Men 13 (which would be highly annoying) they should’ve gone a little older. What do you think?

Let’s not forget that magic of movies. They can make him LOOK like he’s in his 50’s or 60’s. He’s an excellent actor, as you know, so I think it will turn out to be a great choice. Another decent choice might have been Liam Neeson. Shave his head and he’s Professor X.

Agreed he’s a great actor, but he’s so young. Judging from the CGI they did on Professor X in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, I’m scared lol. Liam Neeson would be good but maybe borderline too old for First Class, but I don’t think enough to make a bad impact. First Class needs to be X-men in their early 20s and Professor X in his early 40s.

DEFINITELY older. This is a horrible choice! He woulda been a great Magneto though. The question is, will they further butcher the storyline or use a boatload of money on to make him look older. If there is one thing they could’ve learned from DC, it’s casting ie: Superman. This franchise just keeps getting worse and worse.

Yeah – he looks way more like Magneto than Prof. X and he’s a great actor – he could’ve done Magneto’s theatrics well, but either way he’s too young. He’s 31 and looks younger than that. Unless this is an X-Babies movie and we just haven’t been informed yet. Oh God, that was a joke but I scared myself hahaha.
